Tarte Tarteist Lip Paints

tarte-lip-paint

If you thought the Tarte Tarteist Lip Paints were everything you’ve ever wanted in a liquid lipstick, I’m about to change your mind. The Tarte Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint launched today, and it’s the standard lip paint’s slicker sister. It has the same velvety, non-drying formula and intense color payoff that we all love about the original lip paints but dries down faster than you can say Tarte Tarteist Lip Paints.

Jen Crimmins, one of Tarte’s brand ambassadors who is also known as @jentarte, tested out the new liquid lipstick on the brand’s Instagram Story, and it really does dry lickety-split. After applying one coat and counting to ten, she pressed her lips onto a white napkin, and the lipstick didn’t transfer or EVEN move.

Kat Von D Holiday Liquid-Lipstick Set

kat-von-d-holiday-collection

If I had to pick one thing from the Kat Von D beauty selection (it’s really hard), I would have to go with the Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks. The matte lipsticks are perfect in every way: They glide on easily, the colors are super-pigmented and bold, and they stay on forever. Naturally, they’ve developed a serious cult following, especially Lolita—a ’90s-style rosy-brown shade.

It only makes sense that Von D came up with the most epic collection as one of her holiday offerings. Allow me to introduce you to the Kat Von D Holiday Everlasting Obsession Liquid Lipstick Collector’s Edition set. It’s a massive arsenal containing 15 liquid lipsticks, including some of the best ones, such as burnt-orange A-Go-Go and muted-pink Beloved. Even more exciting: The collection features two brand-new shades. Lovecraft is a peachy nude and Devils is a seriously bright red.

Here comes the scary news: This vault is not cheap. It retails for $240, though the company promises it’s worth $300. But if you’re a lipstick lover, especially if you’re Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks obsessed, it might be worth the splurge. From the plum Damned to the lavender Ayesha, there’s really a shade for every day of the week. And if the Kat Von D Holiday Everlasting Obsession Liquid Lipstick Collector’s Edition set is a bit out of your budget, Von D will also be offering the Kat Von D Beauty Everlasting Mini Liquid Lipstick Set, which is a collection of eight mini versions of the best-selling liquid lipsticks, including two new shades called Plath and Roxy ($49). Von D wants everyone to be happy this holiday season, and we love her for it. All sets will be available at Sephora stores and katvondbeauty.com September 27, just in time for holiday shopping.

Urban Decay’s New Disney Collection

Here’s Your First Look at Urban Decay’s Alice Through the Looking Glass Collection!

The Disney and beauty-obsessed members of the world won’t want to be late for this very important date—namely, May 5th, when Urban Decay’s limited-edition Alice Through the Looking Glass range officially drops. Next month, the brand will roll out a six-piece collection inspired by the film, which will bring that extra touch of whimsy to the looking glass you use in your own home to put on your face in the mornings. The lineup inlcudes five vibrant lipsticks, ranging from classics like a shimmery nude and matte red, all the way to a metallic navy blue, and a gorgeous Book of Shadows palette that features 20 brand-new shades created only for this collection. I especially love how the psychadelic kaleidescope exterior of each item provides a teaser of the bold color payoff the product housed inside delivers. If you remember the frenzy surrounding the Alice in Wonderland-themed Book of Shadows kit about five years back (Spoiler alert: it sold out immediately), you’ll want to have your Google alerts set for this one.

Check out each of the products in the pictures below, and shop the line in full for $18 per lipstick and $60 for the palette at sephora.com or at urbandecay.com once it arrives in May.

COCO LOVES LA

During Oscars week one of my absolute favorite things I attended was a special preview of CHANEL’s “I love Coco Backstage Beauty Lounge” at Bar Marmont. The event was a celebration of their new range of LE VERNIS Longwear Nail Color & ROUGE COCO STYLO lip shine-both go which I absolutely love.

Each room was so chic and had so much many things to do/see that I felt like we had a full blown night out on the town. The little rooms/activities were the VIP Beauty Lounge, manicure bar, refreshment patio, bar with stage (where my girls & I tried to be rockstars…keyword:tried) and all of their new products.

It was reminiscent of Cafe de Flore, a nod to Coco Parisian roots, but also echoed the class rock n’roll age nostalgia of Bar Marmont. Custom made Chanel records hung above red velvet booths. The booths were situated behind vintage mirrored tables set with a myriad of fresh-off-the-line nail polishes, right down to the double ‘C’ file.

MAC’s New Pout Product Will Elevate the Way You Wear Lipstick

MAC-Vamplify-Lip-Gloss

Newsflash: lip gloss is here to stay. We’re not talking about the sticky formulas that used to grab your hair back in the eighth grade. No, sir! These new high-lacquer lip products are not showing any signs of tackiness. Instead, they glide on for comfortable wear, and the pigment makes an grand appearance (no need for multiple layers).

In response to this trend, MAC will be releasing a new set of 17 glosses dubbed Vamplify ($20) in the fall. While Lipglass is typically the final layer of shine over your favorite lipstick, these shades are heavily hued so they can be worn alone. Vamplify will be available on Sept. 3 along with a set of coordinating longwear lip liners. Keep reading to preview the collection and see swatches!

BEYONCE X FLASH TATS

Beyonce just made Flash Tattoos even more fun. Queen B designed her own 5-sheet collection that is, you guessed it, flawless. M.A.C. COLLABORATES WITH GIAMBATTISTA VALLI

f299a1455c474c094dc17a28f6f186763c01a2b9

The lipstick collection is inspired by dresses from past collections. This year, the Paris-based “it” designer who’s dressed everyone from Amal Clooney to Rihanna is celebrating 10 years of his self-titled fashion house as well as a decade partnering with MAC on his runway shows. In honor of this  spectacular occasion, Valli has created five vibrant matte lipsticks and a clear gloss to transform the lipsticks into — you guessed it —10 different combinations. Also even bigger news: For the first time ever, MAC has color-matched the packaging to the lipstick bullets, so you know exactly which tube you’re grabbing.

The timeless shades will make the perfect addition to any makeup collection.

MAC X Giambattista Valli will be available in stores from July 9 through August 6, 2015.

I Tried St. Tropez’s New In-Shower Self-Tanner

st-tropez-in-shower-tanner

It’s self-tanning season, which means you’re probably looking for the fastest (and easiest) way to get a safe glow (meaning the kind with zero UV radiation). That’s where St. Tropez’s new rinse-off self-tanner comes in.

The amazing feature about this formula is that it develops on wet skin and washes clean after three minutes. All you have to do is get clean in a warm shower, then turn off the water and rub the creamy self-tanner all over your body while your skin is still wet. Wait three minutes, then rinse. Here’s how it works: Wet skin has a smooth, porous surface that enables the tanning ingredient, DHA, to penetrate much faster than when skin is dry. A thin solvent in the formula protects the DHA from breaking down, and within three minutes, enough DHA has reacted with the amino acids in the skin to produce a tan. So after rinsing, the color should continue to develop for eight hours. And like any gradual tanner, you can apply it two or three days in a row for a deeper color.

I found the product much easier to use than traditional gradual self-tanners, and after three applications, my skin was a nice golden shade. The color was pretty and no so obvious (about two to three shades darker than my naturally fair tone), without a single streak.

A word of caution: Be sure to completely rinse the tanner off your skin before leaving the
